On December 1, 2025, the TPO Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Donja Gorica (UDG) from Montenegro, held a book promotion for Who’s Afraid of Gender? by Judith Butler. The promotion took place as part of the campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence,” and the book was discussed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikoleta Đukanović and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Milica Kovač Orlandić, representing the UDG Office for Gender Equality.

The moderators presented the key segments of the book, reflecting on its content, significance, and important messages. In this context, it was highlighted, for example, that “claims made against gender vary depending on the context in which they are made, but certain motifs appear across all regions,” and that the solution lies in “linking the struggle for gender freedoms and rights with criticism of capitalism.” It was emphasized that it is necessary to “formulate the freedoms we fight for collectively, and allow gender to become part of a broader struggle for a social and economic world that eliminates precarity and provides healthcare, shelter, and food in all regions.”
The promotion was attended by students as well as members of the teaching staff.
