On December 8, 2025, the TPO Foundation, in cooperation with the University of Tuzla, held the eighth promotion of the book Who’s Afraid of Gender? by Judith Butler. The promotion is part of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign. The promoters were Professor Dr. Jasmina Husanović and Professor Dr. Anisa Avdagić.

The speakers emphasized the mechanisms that generate fear, suppress critical thinking, and enable the political use of ignorance. Prof. Dr. Husanović highlighted that anti-gender discourse constructs “gender” as a phantasmatic enemy and thus produces precisely what it allegedly fears – a monolithic threat that must be controlled. In this regard, what was underscored as crucial is the opening of space for a different distribution of power, social energy, and political imagination, which can be achieved only through education for critical thinking and feminist work.
