In cooperation with the TPO Foundation, the Secondary School of Textile, Leather and Design Sarajevo is actively participating in the “16 Days of Activism” Campaign. Two workshops were held on November 24th, 2025, led by professors MSc Alma Ahmethodžić and Elbasa Mulić, as well as peer-education run by students Adna Skopak, Azra Hadžić i Ena Herco.
Elbasa Mulić conducted a workshop titled “The Misuse of Religion in Attempts to Justify Violence Against Women”, aimed at strengthening critical thinking among young people and developing the ability to recognize manipulation, especially in contexts where religious teachings are used in inauthentic ways. The workshop was attended by 10 students who actively participated in all segments. The session was held in a constructive atmosphere, and students demonstrated maturity, interest, and readiness to engage in similar educational programs in the future. Continued implementation of such workshops is recommended within school prevention programmes aimed at combating violence.
The second workshop, “Gender-Based Violence and the Importance of Prevention in Schools”, was led by professor MSc Alma Ahmethodžić. During the workshop, through discussion, students had the opportunity to consolidate and expand their knowledge about gender-based violence, the Campaign itself, and the importance of prevention through education and school-based programmes. They also used digital tools to demonstrate their knowledge and creativity in solving problem situations (cases of gender-based violence) and to test their understanding of gender-based violence and the legal regulations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the end of the workshop, students sent messages of support on a poster titled “WALL OF COURAGE / WALL OF SUPPORT”, which was displayed on the school notice board in the colours of the “16 Days of Activism” Campaign.
